Industrial style refers to an aesthetic trend in interior design that draws the inspiration from warehouse, factories or an urban lofts. The site is located at Tanjong Tokong in a slightly rural area whereby it is mostly surrounded by nature and plants. The concept of having an interior design with nature concepts creates a sense of rarity within the urbanization state of Penang itself. The Industrial interior design focuses mainly on combining raw and rough with clean and streamlined typically wood, exposed bricks, industrial lighting fixtures and concrete. There's a sense of unfinished rawness in many of the elements and it's pretty common to see high ceilings, old timbers and dangling metal light fixtures with sparse functional furniture can also be found in the interior.

The client is a newly love birds who just got married on February 2017 and the husband is 28 years old who worked as a Brand Manager from Singapore while his lovely wife is 3 years younger working as an Accountant in Penang. The husband likes to spend his free time after work at the dining bar and also the living room. On the other hand, the wife occasionally will bring her office workloads back home to complete it which she demands to have a practical home-feeling working space. Both of them are bad at cooking and rarely find themselves cooking unless there are any special occasions or invited guests. They wanted their home to feel comfortable and near to nature due to their busy and hectic urban city lifestyle. Therefore, the main concept of this design is to create a sense of nature within an urban fast-paced and populated city.

Wall: Leave any brickwork, exposed beams, wires, cords, air-conditioning ducts. Deep rich colors for feature walls or black for a feeling of boldness.
Floor: Finish floors in word or polished concrete.
Color Scheme: Shades of white, black or gunmetal grey with addition black-red or brown palettes.
Furniture: Timeless pieces of vintage leather couch paired with modern accessories to bring it up to date.
Material: Wooden furniture, solid wooden tops, stainless steel tops, wrought iron base and metal frames.
Lighting: Keep with the industrial by choosing pendant lights with metal shades and exposed bulbs, but use softer lumens to give the room a dimmed warm feel.
Decoration: Potted indoor plants such as palms & bamboo. It will help delineate areas and create a homely feel without detracting the sleek industrial look. One of two pieces of abstract art or photography will add dash of color.
